We've Had Our Share Of Talent At X-C Nationals

Matt Bouthillette, a 2016 La Salle grad, was 49th at last year's NXN with a time of 15:50.4.

The most recent was last year when Principe and teammate Matt Bouthillette earned the trip by finishing third and fifth, respectively, at the regionals. After leading in the early stages of the race, Principe eventually placed 17th overall in 15:28.5 to earn All-American status. Bouthillette placed 49th in the talented field with a strong time of 15:50.4.

In 2014, La Salle had both its boys' and girls' teams qualify for NXN. The boys were listed among the favorites, but experienced a bad start off the line and never could quite get their groove and placed 18th overall. Principe was the Rams' top finisher, taking 75th overall in 16:20. The girls were able to crack the top 10, placing ninth overall. Former Ram standout and current Duke sophomore Sheridan Wilbur was first for La Salle, taking 28th in 18:18. Running as an individual, then-freshman Ellie Lawler of South Kingstown was 33rd overall in 18:22. Barrington's Emma McMillan, a sophomore at the time, was 45th in 18:22.
