May Stern, Classical
The senior speedster has had an outstanding final year on the track oval. It all started during the indoor season where she established indoor state marks in the 300m and 400m dashes and also won state and New England titles for 300m. She hasn't missed a beat this spring and should sparkle at Brown, a school she'll be attending in the fall. Stern has the fastest time in the state in the 400m by nearly five seconds with here recent hand-held clocking of 54.80. She also is tied for No.1 in the 100m (12.1) and is a tenth of second from the top time in the 200m with her current best of 25.70. Stern is also the anchor for her team's 4x400m squad. At the indoor state meet, she made up a 50-75 meter deficit with a blistering final leg that led the Purple quartet to the win. The potential is there for this gifted senior to score an abundance of points for Classical this weekend.
