Top Six Events to Watch at Schomp Invitational

Boys' 1,500m

At last year's meet, five runners clocked a time under four minutes with La Salle Academy senior Jack Salisbury breaking the tape first at 3:57.2. Guess what? It could be a repeat of what we saw in 2015. Salisbury is back and so is his teammates DJ Principe (second, 3:57.9) and Matt Bouthillette (third, 3:58.5). Now throw in Classical's Joe Murphy, a low four-minute runner, and Cumberland's Sean Laverty, who has done 4:13 for the mile, and the possibilities are great for five runners to again crack the four-minute barrier. Salisbury, Principe and Bouthillette are also coming off a high from their outstanding second-place finish in the DMR at the Penn Relays. We're predicting a low 3:50 effort in this race with the company being close at the finish.
