At last year's state meet, Marissa finished tenth overall. Can she crack the top seven this fall? It's possible. The Narragansett senior won the Class C title by nearly 50 seconds with a time of 18:48.02. If pushed, she can knock a good 10-15 seconds off that clocking, a time that could certainly secure a possible first-team all-state spot. Marissa was the top Rhode Islander at the Brown Invitational where she placed tenth in the Championship Race with a personal best of 18:22. She also was second at the Skee Carter (Bronco) Invitational where she again dipped under 19 minutes.
