No. 7 - Boys' 1,500m at Schomp Invitational

With the emergence of distance running in the Ocean State, we have seen our share of quality 1,500-meter races over the years.

But the one that took place on May 5 at the Schomp Meet might top them all. With a stacked field on the line, five runner dipped under the four-minute mark with La Salle Academy junior Jack Salsibury edging teammate D.J. Principe for the title with a time of 3 minutes, 57.2 seconds. Principe was timed in an all-time best of 3:57.9. Rounding out the remaining three runners were La Salle junior Matt Bouthilette (third, 3:58.5), La Salle senior Dan Paiva (fourth, 3:58.9) and East Greenwich senior Tommy Sommer (fifth, 3:59.4).
