No. 9 - Barrington hammer-thrower Bobby Colantonio heaves nation No. 1 at Classical Classic

Colantonio has had an outstanding summer so far and right now is in Columbia where he's competing in the World Youth Invitational.

During the high school season he proved his recent resurgence, where he has won individual titles at the USATF Junior Nationals, the IAAF World Youth Trials and the USATF Youth Outdoor Championships, is no fluke.

In June, Colantonio won his second straight state crown and placed second at teammate Adam Kelly at the New Balance Nationals. His best toss with the high school hammer, and what we consider worthy of our top 10 list, came on May 16 at the Classical Classic. In that meet, he had an all-time and nation best of 243-7, a mark that remained at No. 1 until the end of the season.
