State Meet: Top Female Athletes to Watch

Quashira McIntosh, Hope (55m, 300m)

Since she was a freshman, McIntosh has dominated the sprints, and this weekend shouldn't be any different. 'Q' has had another great year on the oval where she broke her own state records last month in the 55m dash (7.09) at the Yale Track Classic and the 300m (38.89) at the Armory Track Invitational. There's a lot a strong sprinters this year such as La Salle's Stephanie DiTraglia and Woonsocket's Quinn Harlan, but McIntosh is in a class by herself. Her best in the short race .31 ahead of DiTraglia and her fastest for 300m is close to four seconds! Once again, we're expecting a double-winning effort from 'Q', just like she's done the past two years. She also is on her team's top-seeded 4x200m and 4x400m squads. Potentially, she could be responsible for 40 of the Blue Wave's points.
