Classical
Judging by her past success in the weight events, Alva is
the overwhelming favorite to claim the individual crown in the 20-pound weight
and the shot put. The Classical standout is more than six feet ahead of her
closest rival in the shot put with her best of 40-11. In the weight, the margin
is even bigger with her PB of 56-8. She is a state runner-up in the weight and
shot. Alva is a two-time discus state champion and also won the shot put at
last year’s states. Chances are high she’ll add two more state crowns by the
time the indoor season is done.
