Indoor Track: Five Girls To Watch in Field Events

Meghan Malloy, junior, Smithfield

As a tenth-grader last year, Meghan made quite an impact. She finished fourth in the shot put and was sixth in the 20-pound weight at the indoor state meet. Meghan also had podium placements during the outdoor season where she was sixth in the shot and fourth in the hammer. Based on what she did last year where she had best of 36-5.25 in the shot and 47-9.25 in the weight, Meghan has the potential to make some noise this season. If she can crack 50 feet in the weight that should at least secure a top-three finish at the state meet. A high 38-39 foot effort in the shot put would also place high. Both are attainable marks for this talented Sentinel.
