Indoor Track: Five Girls To Watch in Field Events

Meaghan Scullin, junior, Cumberland

There’s not many athletes that can match the versatility of Meaghan. The Clipper senior has the ability to run the 400 meters in 58 seconds, which she did to take third at the outdoor state meet this past June. She also can run sub 20 minutes for the 5K, which she did a handful of times this past cross-country season. Oh yeah, and Meaghan can also leap. She is the reigning long jump state champion where she surprised the competition with a personal best effort of 17-6.75. She also collected six more points for her teammates by finishing third in the high jump with a height of five-feet even. She owns a best of 5-3, making her a legitimate contender for that title, too.
