Top Boys To Watch At State Meet

Jack Salisbury, junior, La Salle Academy

The state meet will be Jack’s first race since placing second at the Injury Fund Carnival in early September. The Ram standout has been nursing a sore quadricep, but according to his coaches is ready to go on Sunday. Even if he’s just 80 percent, Jack can make a difference. He’s proven the last two years he doesn’t like to lose, a mentality that has earned him multiple all-state honors on the track surface. Without any racing experience for nearly two months, Jack will be at a disadvantage this weekend. But as Sheridan Wilbur proved last year for the La Salle girls when she finished fifth at the class and state meets after missing most of the season with an injury, elite runners such as Jack have that extra ability to make it happen when it appears the odds are not favorable.  Don’t count Jack out!
