Right here in our small state is one of the biggest cross-country meets in the northeast region with more than 5,000 runners heading to Goddard State Park for the tenth annual Ocean State Invitational. R.I. will be well represented at the meet, which features middle school and high school races. In the featured Championship races, Cumberland and North Kingstown are among our local contingent. A year after he dominated the freshmen race at Ocean State, North Kingstown sophomore Sam Toolin is one of the favorites to capture individual honors. The Skippers will also have their girls' squad against the cream of the crop.
