La Salle Academy, Barrington and East Greenwich will be sending their teams to the Bowdoin X-C Classic at Wappinger Falls, N.Y. The meet is held on a challenging five-kilometer terrain that is the same site of the Nike Cross Nationals Northeast Regionals in late November. Last year the Rams' D.J. Principe won the overall title with a time of 15:44.99, one of the fastest times ever run on the rolling course. Based on that performance and his near sub 15-minute effort at the Injury Fund Carnival a few weeks ago, you would have to assume that the target will be on his back this weekend, and that there's a very good chance he'll respond to the challenge. All three teams are among the best here in RI and should fare well up north. La Salle was second in 2015 and that was without the service of one of their top runners, recent grad and multiple all-stater Jack Salisbury.
