On 9/28 the day before Great American, MilesplitRI was lucky enough to sit down and talk with assocaite meet director Paul Limmer. Paul is also the meet director for two of the NXN regional championships - New York and the Northeast Regions - as well as the meet director for the NXN national championship. Paul is a great friend of RI cross country and is extremely knowledgeable about the northeast region. Paul took the time out of a busy set-up day to sit down with one of our local RI coaches, James Lourenco of Bishop Hendricken, and preview the race of champions on both the boys and girls side. Paul also took some time to explain the significance of the NXN series and where Rhode Island as a state fits into the national picture.
Look for Paul again this season in November when several Rhode Island teams will travel to Bowdoin Park in New York for the NXN Northeast regional championship.
