However, the top 6 finishers at states return as well as 8 of the top 10. Fahys has been dominant in cross since her freshman year in New Jersey, and despite recent injuries looks ready to claim the top spot once again.

The 800-meter specialist has shown her cross country prowess over the last two years where she took 3rd and 2nd at the last two state meets. Her sub-10 3k and 55.45 400 in the same meet show just a glimpse at her range. Gorriaran, similar to Fahys, was hurt for the outdoor season. However, in her senior campaign, she could upset Fahys if the race came down to a sprint finish.

This year, she has continued to drop her middle distance times and won 3 state championships between indoor and outdoor. The possibility of her challenging for the top three and even the win cannot be ignored. With another year of experience, mid-distance speed, and strong PRs from 800-3000; she will be a force to be reckoned with.

After taking 6th as a freshman and 5th as a sophomore, many would expect Sullivan to be ready to threaten a podium finish. This should be expected, but will not be easy as everyone who placed ahead of her will return for their senior years. Sullivan also did not compete after cross due to injury. Her 18:33.92 at RunningLane shows she led North Kingstown to a state championship, and looks to continue to be a lowstick come this season.
