The Stanford University men's cross-country team, ranked No. 4 in the recent NCAA poll, showed its dominance Saturday's on its home course.
With all five of their scoring runners among the top eight finishers, the Cardinal squad posted a relatively easy 26-53 victory over runner-up UCLA at the Stanford Invitational. The No. 5 runner for Stanford was former La Salle Academy standout DJ Principe, who crossed the line with a PR of 24 minutes, 17 seconds for the eight-kilometer course.
Also on Saturday, Principe's former teammate at La Salle, Matthew Bouthillette, a Georgetown junior, was his team's fifth scorer at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Wisconsin. Bouthillette was timed in 24:52.1 for the 8K distance.
