ENTRY LISTS Boys Girls
There should be plenty of excitement at the Providence Career and Technical Academy this Saturday.
From 11 a.m. until about 8 p.m., all six class meets (boys and girls) will take place. Judging by how things have transpired on the oval the last few weeks, the potential is there for several national-caliber performances inside the PCTA.
The Class A boys and Large School girls will begin things at 11 a.m. Bishop Hendricken will be seeking its 24th straight team crown, and all signs point in the Hawks' favor. La Salle Academy tied North Kingstown for the team crown last year in the Large School meet, and it looks like it will be another nail-biter with a few other teams in the mix.
Class B boys and the Medium School girls will start at 2:30 p.m. West Warwick is the two-time defending titlists in the class meet, while highly-favored Portsmouth will be aiming for its second consecutive crown in the Medium School meet.
The meet will conclude at 5:50 p.m. when the Class C boys and Small School girls hit the track. East Greenwich and our newest 600-meter state record-holder Cebastian Gentil will be aiming for back-to-back crowns in the Class C meet. Smithfield (10) and Mount St. Charles (3) have been the only teams to capture the Small School meet since 2004-05. Will we see a new champion or will it be more of the same this weekend?
