Ten Events To Watch At The R.I. State Meet

Classical's Jacob Furland

BOYS' HAMMER

In the past, there has pretty much been a clear-cut favorite to win this title. Not this year!  Classical's Jacob Furland is the No. 1 seed, the third athlete to take that spot this season. Furland had the meet of his life at the Class B Meet where he had a big-time PR of 219-10. Right behind was teammate Zeke Cohen at 210-6.
Woonsocket's Jared Briere has done 208-0 this season and teammate Dilyn Cote, last week's winner at the Hendricken Invitational, has a best of 205-7. Five others in the field have done over 190 feet. If the weather cooperates, and most are on their game, we could have a record number over 200 feet this weekend. Who will earn gold? Take your pick!
