The Rhode Island high school track & field and cross-country community lost its biggest supporter on Saturday.
MileSplit RI just learned that former Providence Journal reporter and R.I. Track & Field Foundation scribe Bob Leddy has passed away.
In my eyes, there was no one more passionate, no one more dedicated about high school track & field and cross country in R.I. than Bob. Since his days at the Journal, and the last decade for the RITFF, Bob has been a regular fixture at track & field and cross-country events, making sure that these two sports, which are often overlooked, got their due.
Bob will surely be missed by us all.
