The final outcome was never in doubt for Cumberland's Ben Drezek and Cranston East's Shayna Cousineau at the Skee Carter Bronco Invitational. Both runners built a sizable lead early at Thursday's meet and coasted to easy victories in their respective races.
Drezek won his second straight title with a first-place time of 15:52. Burrillville's Jeff PIchie was second at 16:04 and Cumberland's Ryan Mardo placed third in 16:05.
Cousineau was far ahead of the field by the time she crossed the line with a personal best of 18:58. Vicky Thurley was a distant second in 20:23. Hope's Leinni (20:30) and LIsbeth Vladez (20:34) were third and fourth.
In the girls' team competition, Prout topped runner-up Mount St. Charles, 59-86. Cumberland defeated second-place Prout, 40-52, for the boys' title.
