Ocean State Invitational Next On Agenda For RI

It was a quiet few days for Rhode Island this past weekend with just one event, the Blackstone Valley Invitational, a meet that produced a very low turnout.

But things will start heating up from here, beginning with this coming Saturday's Ocean State X-C Invitational at Goddard State Memorial Park. Several teams will also be competing out-of-state at the Bowdoin Classic in New York and New Hampshire's Manchester Invitational.. MileSplit RI will be on site for the two-day Ocean State Invite, a meet that features middle school and high school races. 

Below is a press release to coaches and athletes that was sent by Bob Rothenberg, who along with his wife, Anne, and Charlie Breagy, have been the co-race directors of the Ocean State meet since its inception in 2006. 

Our 10th annual Ocean State X-C Invitational for runners from a seven-state area will be held Friday and Saturday, at Goddard Park in Warwick.  Middle school races for grades 6, 7, and 8 will be run on Friday afternoon. Saturday is dedicated to 14 high school races after a trail run for the community at 8:00.
