DJ Principe to blog from Nike Elite Distance Camp

La Salle Academy distance ace DJ Principe finished off another outstanding year a few weeks ago by winning the 5,000-meter run at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Championships. But the Ram standout isn't done running with some nationally-ranked talent quite yet.

On Wednesday morning, Principe flew to Eugene, Oregon where he will be among a select group of runners at the Nike Elite Distance Camp. For the next week, he'll be with 18 of the best runners in the country. Nike invites the top 18 distance runners to the camp that will be entering their senior year this fall. According to the camp's website, the runners will "train, compete and learn together with the best coaches and professional athletes as their guides."

Throughout the week, DJ has agreed to blog about his experience at the Nike camp. Check back each day to hear what DJ has to say about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will also include an exhibition mile race Saturday at the US Olympic Track & Field Trials at the famed Hayward Field.

Of note, this will be the second year that La Salle will have a runner at the camp. In 2015, Georgetown-bound Jack Salisbury was among the Invites.
