NBNO Sunday Wrap-Up

Good Genes

The name might not sound familiar because he's from another state, but Maine's Drew Nealy does have some local ties. Nealy, a third-place finisher in the Decathlon, is the son of former Cumberland all-stater and cross-country state champion Joanne (Choiniere) Nealy, who starred for the Clippers in the late 1970s. The younger Nealy collected 6,688 points in the two-day event. He had 700-plus points in five different events - the 100m (11.63), the high jump (6-3 1/4), the 400m (52.48), the 110m hurdles (16.06) and the 1,500m (4:34.0).
