R.I. State Meet: Male Athletes to Watch

Jack Salisbury, Matt Bouthillette, DJ Principe, La Salle Academy

We have to group this trio together for the simple fact it would be hard to single any one of them out.  For the last few years, Salisbury, Bouthillette and Principe have produced their share of highlights for the Rams, and that shouldn't change this weekend. With their combined efforts, there's a possibility of at least 50 or 60 points on Saturday. Salisbury, a 4:06 miler and multiple state champion,  is favored for his third straight state crown in the 1,500m where he owns a state best of 3:52.10. He'll also be looking for back-to-back titles in the 800m, an event he has a PB of 1:55.25. The Ram senior has a devastating kick and will do whatever it takes to prosper at the end. The fact that this will be his final high school meet in the state only adds to his motivation. Bouthillette and Principe should score high in the 1,500m and are capable of a 1-2 finish in the 3K.
