Former East Greenwich all-stater Nick Ross, a member of the New England Distance Project, had a strong showing at the New Balance Games Sunday afternoon.
Competing on the banked oval of the New Balance Armory in New York City, Ross finished sixth overall in the Elite/Pro Mile Run with a fast time of 4 minutes, 4.54 seconds. The race was won by Taylor Milne of the Speed River Track Club with a 4:01.18 clocking. Ross was part of an impressive performance by the RI-based NE Distant Project. Placing third and fourth, respectively, was Steve Mangan (4:02.92) and Henry Sterling (4:04.04).
