New venue for Twilight X-C Relays on Sept. 11

Same event, different venue.

The third annual MileSplit RI Twilight X-C Relays is coming up fast. The popular nighttime event, which consists of a series of 3xMile Relays under the lights, will be held on Friday, Sept. 11. One slight change. Unlike the previous two years where the meet was held at Cumberland High's Tucker Field, this year's event will take place at scenic Diamond Hill State Park on Rte. 114 in Cumberland.

The meet will kick off with Freshmen races, beginning with the girls at 6 p.m., and followed by the boys at 6:30 p.m. The varsity races will start at 7 p.m. with a Varsity 2 event, followed by a seeded Varsity 1 event. Again, the girls will go first, followed by the boys at 30-minute increments.

Medals will be awarded to the top three 3xMile teams in each event, including the freshmen races. Tech T-shirts will also be available for purchase at the event. The cost for unlimited entries is just $40 per team (per gender) or $70 of entering a boys' and girls' team.

The primary purpose of the Twilight X-C Relays is to provide a fun (and competitive) event to begin the season. Besides running under the lights, music will be played throughout the meet. And, of course, MileSplit RI will be on site and provide complete coverage of the Relays from start to finish.
