Adam Kelly, Barrington (weight, shot)
Kelly has been a model of consistency in the weight throw this season, an event he broke the state mark three times. His latest effort came this past week at the Millrose Games where he tossed the metal apparatus a distance of 83-3.25. Kelly is also the top seed in the shot put with a best of 52-3.5. The Eagle standout, who is the defending state and national champion for the weight throw, will get his biggest challenge in the weight from junior teammate Bobby Colantonio, a No. 2 seed with his best of 76-7.5, a distance that ranks second in the country. Moses Brown's Owen Russell could also be a threat. He's come on strong this season and has a PB of 75-8.25, which is third in the nation.
