Ther season-opening Injury Fund Cross-Country Carnival on Saturday produced a number of quick times at Burrillville Middle School. The Bishop Hendricken tandem of Colin Tierney and Mike Potter finished 1-2 in the Gray Division race with identical clockings of 15 minutes, 35 seconds - the fastest times of the day.
In the girls' races, La Salle Academy sophomore Eliza Rego cruised to a first-place time of 18:27 to win the Sullivan Division race. Maddy Berkson, a senior from Classical, beat the field in the Roy Division with a time of 18:33.
Another notable performance was turned in by freshman D.J. Principe of La Salle. Principe captured the Frosh Race with a blazing 12:50 for 2.5 miles.
