It was a GREAT weekend for Rhode Islanders at New Balance Nationals!

Barrington senior Adam Kelly finished off his stellar high school career in the weight circle by capturing the hammer on Sunday with a personal-best distance of 241 feet, 7 inches. Kelly defeated teammate Bobby Colantonio, who placed second with a heave of 236-1. in all, R.I. athletes claimed five of the top six placements, perhaps a first for any state at NBNO. Rounding out the R.I. contingent was Moses Brown's Owen Russell (third, 220-9), Barrington's Mike Alvernaz (fifth, 198-3) and Woonsocket's Jared Briere (sixth, 195-8).
