While the high school runners will be competing in their respective class meets this Saturday, middle-school athletes from throughout R.I. will be at Goddard State Park in Warwick for their annual state championships. MileSplit RI will provide LIVE results and will also have a photograher on the course, taking pics of all the races.
Sam Toolin of Wickford, who last month captured the eighth-grade division of the Ocean State X-C Invitational, will be back to defend his title in the boys' race. The top returning harriers from the girls' race are Barrington's Tea Bishop and Cole's Emma MacDonald, who were fifth and sixth, respectively, at last year's states. In the team competition, North Cumberland, Barrington, Wickford and Cole bring unbeaten marks into the boys' race. The girls' meet will feature undefeated squads such as Barrington, North Cumberland, Cole and Wickford.
