During the next few weeks leading up to the beginning of the cross-country season, MileSplit RI will highlight some of our top returning runners this fall. We graduated some outstanding harriers from last year, but we still have an impressive list of talent coming back this season with hopes of making their marks on the dirt trails.
Lily Nunnery, North Kingstown
The last two years, Nunnery has finished 11th at the State Meet. We believe the Skipper senior has a good chance to earn a first-team all-state bid by placing among the first seven finishers. Nunnery had top-10 placements at several meets last fall, including the Injury Fund Carnival (third), the Burlington Invitational (seventh), the Wickham Park Invitational (seventh) and the Class A meet (fifth). She clocked her all-time best for five kilometers at the New England Championships with a near sub 19-minute clocking of 19:00.98. Nunnery is coming off an outdoor track season where she finished second in the two mile at the Class A meet, won the event at the Mount Pleasant Invitational and was fourth overall at the State Meet.
