State Meet Boys' Preview: It's Anybody's Guess Who Will Snare Individual Honors on Sunday

Conor Murphy, Classical

After a successful freshman campaign, Murphy is having a breakthrough sophomore year on the trails and certainly capable of winning it all on Sunday. The Classical standout ran a strong 15:51 for the 5K distance at the Maine Festival of Champions and also broke 16 minutes at the Brown Northeast Invitational where he was the top RI finisher. He's coming off a second-place finish to Westerly's Matt Walker in the Class B race, an event we know he had a 'W' on his mind. We're predicting he'll be focused on a more patient approach in his quest for an individual title, a strategy that could be to his benefit at the end.
