Purple holds off Titans for Central Division plaque
Highlighted by two individual triumphs and two more wins from its relay squads, Classical withstood a tightly-contested battle with Toll Gate to earn the Central Division title.
The Purple had victories from Melissa Mejia in the discus and Ava McCartin in the pole vault. Classical collected an additional 20 points from its first-place 4x400m and 4x800m squads.
Toll Gate's Casey Gannon, one of the state's top hurdlers, captured the 100m HH and the 300m IH. The Titans' Any Armenakyan was also a double-winner, taking gold in the shot put and the hammer.
