Principe, Ross Racing Top Milers at New Balance Games in New York on Saturday

The Elite Mile of the New Balance Games on Saturday will be the professional indoor debut of Drew Hunter, who established national records for the mile and 3K last year as a senior for Loudoun Valley (VA).

The race, which will take place inside the historic New Balance Armory, will also feature two of our own from the Ocean State. La Salle Academy senior DJ Principe, who currently ranks No. 1 in the country for the mile after his state record 4:04.47 at a BU Mini Meet on Dec. 31, is scheduled to join the field of professional and top collegiate runners. Also toeing the line is former East Greenwich star Nick Ross of the New England Distance Project. Ross joined the sub four-minute club on June 2 when he clocked a time of 3:59.73 at the Adrian Martinez Classic in Massachusetts.
