Salute to Seniors: Rachel Larmer, West Warwick

Rachel was a four-year member of West Warwick's indoor and outdoor track teams where she specialized in the middle distance events. According to her profile on MileSplit, she boast a best of 6:16 for 1,500m and 3:20 for 800m

Q. What was your most memorable performance?

A. My most memorable performance was when I did a 3,000m run since that was an event I did not usually do.

Q. What was your most difficult obstacle to overcome?

A. My most difficult obstacle to overcome was pushing through the minor injuries (like shin splints) and completing a race no matter the pain I was in.

Q. What advice would you give to younger athletes?

A. Just stick with the sport, even when it seems like you are going nowhere because you will get better.

Q. What will you miss most?

A. I will miss just hanging out with my friends on my team and meeting new people at meets.

Q. What are your future plans?

A. I am going to the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio to study pharmacy.

Q. What influence has your coach (or coaches) had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

A.  My coaches have always inspired me to try my hardest and be persistent. This has carried over into my academic successes.

Q  Who would you like to say Thank You?

A. I would like to say thank you to my coach, Coach Parenteau, for always supporting me since I joined track in the seventh grade and for putting up with any complaining I did.
