Need a NBNO qualifier? Why not MileSplit RI's Cumberland Distance Classic on April 23?

Head down to Tucker Field on April 23 for the MileSplit RI Cumberland Distance Classic.

For the third straight year, MileSplit RI will be hosting the Cumberland Distance Classic. The meet takes place on Saturday, April 23 at Tucker Field. It features 11 events, including standard meet rarities such as the 5,000-meter run, 2K steeplechase and Distance Medley Relay. Every event, except the steeplechase, can be used as a qualifier for the New Balance Nationals Outdoor (NBNO) Championships in June. Coaches who want to get a quick NBNO qualifier out of the way early for some of their athletes this is the perfect meet to do it.

Barrington's Mars Bishop was last year's winner of the Boys' Elite Mile.

The Distance Classic will also include an Elite Mile, which should draw top competition to Tucker. Also among the events is a freshmen and sophomore 1,500m. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event with ribbons given to places 4-6.  There will be a limit of two events (one individual, one relay).

There will also be an Open Mile for any non high-school runner. Any coaches that want to get a quick four laps in while supporting their teams, this is your race. It's also open to the public.

Online registration is now open for the Cumberland Distance Classic.  Any questions with the registration, please let us know. Just contact Steve at 401-480-2401 or smazzone5@gmail.com.

As always, MileSplit RI thanks you for your support.
