MileSplit RI providing LIVE stream of Rhode Island Classic!

National long-jump record-holder Kate Hall, formerly of Lake Region, Maine, is a two-time winner of the 55m and long jump at the Rhode Island Classic. Along with other great talent, word is two 19-foot leapers will be entered in this year's meet, which will be LIVE streamed (with commentary) by MileSplit RI.

We Got Great News!!!

MileSplit RI is excited to announce that it will provide LIVE streaming of the Rhode Island Classic, to be held on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at the Providence Career and Technical Academy fieldhouse. From start to finish, we'll provide video coverage of the meet along with commentary.

Former Brown University coaches Anne and Bob Rothenberg and Hope High coach Thom Spann are the race directors of this high-quality event, which attracts teams from throughout the northeast region (and beyond). In the past, nationally-caliber athletes such as Raj Benjamin (Mount Vernon, NY), Precious Holmes (Hillhouse, CT) and Kate Hall (Lake Region, ME) have competed at the RI Classic. Benjamin and Holmes both hold the respective boys' and girls' 300-meter dash records. Hall, a two-time winner of the 55m dash and the long jump at the meet, would break a 39-year-old record in the long jump six months later at the New Balance Nationals with a leap of 22 feet, 5 inches.

The meet begins with the boys' events from 9:30 a.m. until 1:25 p.m. The girls are slated to begin at 1:55 p.m. with the final event contested at 6:35 p.m. Again, MileSplit RI will provide LIVE streaming of all the action. That's more than 10-hours worth!
