Russell a three-time winner at Moretti meet

Moses Brown senior Owen Russell was a multiple champion at the annual Brian Moretti Invitational Saturday at Cranston West.

Russell, the nation's No. 3 thrower in the hammer, early matched his best in his specialty with a toss of 222 feet, 2 inches. He was also first in the discus with a heave of 137-11 and the shot put at 45-6.

Quaker sophomore Cris Argys broke the tape in the 800-meter run with a time of 1 minute, 59.3 seconds. He demonstrated his versatility by also taking the long jump with a solid leap of 19-2.5.

The top performance for the girls occurred in the 200m dash where Cranston West's Oceana Williams finished 1.2 seconds ahead of teammate Elenu Grammas with a time of 26.1.
