State Meet: Top Female Athletes to Watch

Meaghan Scullin, Cumberland (long jump)

At the 2014 state meet, Scullin surprised the competition by winning the state title as a No. 5 seed. This year, a victory won't be a surprise for the Clipper junior. Scullin is the only athlete in the field to leap further than 18 feet, which she did twice, including her current bets of 18-3.5. She'll be facing some tough competition with four other leapers within 9.5 inches of her best. Scullin, who is one of the most versatile athletes in the state, also ranks among the top three in the high jump (5-2) and 300m (42.52).
