The Rams kicked off the first day of competition by winning
both distance medley relays Friday night. The boys were just a few seconds off their nation
No. 2 from the R.I. Classic a few weeks ago with a combined time of 10 minutes, 35.87 seconds.
The quartet consisted of sophomore D.J. Principe (3:14, 1,200m), senior Jess
Woodbury (:54, 400m), junior Jack Salisbury (2:00, 800m) and junior Matt
Bouthillette (4:25, 1,600m). Cumberland finished a solid third overall in the
race with a time of 10:42.08, a time that ranks No. 7 in the nation. That foursome included junior James Haupt
(3:16, 1,200m), senior Kody Sankey (55.6, 400m), senior David Agudelo (2:02.7,
800m) and senior Abdullah Kaba (4:27.6, 1,600m).
In the girls’ DMR, the La Salle girls won by more than 20
seconds with their winning time of 12:26.25, the second fastest time in the
country so far. Senior Sheridan Wilbur
(3:45, 1,200m), junior Jessica Apajee (1:02, 400m), junior Elise Papazian
(2:28, 800m) and junior Eliza Rego (5:09, 1,600m) comprised the team.
