For the second straight year, the husband-wife duo of Patrick and Katie Moulton took top honors at Sunday's Navigant Credit Union Half Marathon in Pawtucket. Just like 2013, the former Providence College stars earned their respective victories convincingly.

Patrick broke the tape near city hall with a time of 1 hour, 12 minutes, 21.3 seconds. He was more than a half-mile ahead of second-place finisher, Mike Macedo, of Scituate. Macedo, a onetime Ponaganset standout, was timed in 1:15:31.5 for the scenic Blackstone Valley course that takes runners through Cumberland, Lincoln, Central Falls and the host city. Finishing third was Logan Trimble of Sommerville, Mass., at 1:16:01.1.

"It's only my second race of the year," Patrick said"I haven't been doing much but it's always nice to come back here. I felt pretty good."

Katie placed fifth among the 529 finishers to take the women's crown with a solid clocking of 1:21:20.5. Placing a distant second was Providence’s Michelle Tsang at 1:33:57.4.

Moulton, an assistant coach at Chariho Regional, ran according to her pre-race plan.

“I wanted to run comfortably hard,” she said. “I wanted to run within myself. That was the plan. (Patrick and I) actually ran here from home and we plan to run back. It was a nice workout between that was definitely hard.”

In the preceding five-kilometer event, Central Falls senior Logan Paulhus was the first across the line with a time of 18:36.6. Joey Kisamore of Attleboro was second in 18:57.2. Shea schoolteacher and assistant track coach Katie Desrosier copped the women’s title with a time of 20:55.2. She was seventh among the 200-plus participants.
