It's May Madness in the Ocean State! (updated)

It was a busy week of track and field in Rhode Island with seven divisional championships taking place between Monday and Wednesday. Below are some highlights of these meets. The girls' Eastern Division Championship at Barrington High is the only remaining divisional meet. It was postponed from May 8 to this Monday. We'll have all the highlights and results. Check out the girls' 1,500 at the Southern Division Championship. Six girls dipped under five minutes on Tuesday with North Kingstown's Aisha McAdams holding off Westerly's Jackie Burr and South Kingstown's Kendall Feaster with a season best 4:46.0 clocking. Burr and Feaster also recorded season bests with times of 4:48.0 and 4:48.5, respectively. Classical standout Maddy Berkson won the Central Division title at 4:43.6.

Don't forget this Saturday's two state qualifiers - the Cumberland Invitational for girls at Tucker Field and the Classical Classic for boys at Conley Stadium. We'll have all the results of this week's action and some stories, too. We got you covered. Remember to also check out MIleSplit RI on Facebook.
