It's Shaping Up To Be A Great Season In MA

Dejury Is In, He's Fast!

It has been a special season for Dejury Amado this spring. The senior from Greater New Bedford Voke is our state-leader in the 200-meter dash and the 400m. Amado recently finished sixth overall in the 200m at the Glenn D. Loucks Games where he clocked an all-time best of 21.83. In 2017, the talented speedster was 14th overall in this event at the All State Meet. This year, he's among our favorites for individual gold. Not too shabby. Amado also is among a strong contingent of 400m runners. In this event, he also ranks No. 1 statewide. He put himself atop the list two weeks ago when he captured the one-lapper at the Greater New Bedford Sunset Invitational with a PB of 48.72. He is one of three MA athletes that have broken 49 seconds this season. Somerville's Phillips Magre (48.91) and Belmont's Calvin Perkins (48.98) are the only other runners to accomplish the feat.
