Twenty-four footer for Shepard

He did it during a divisional meet in an event that unfortunately doesn't have many spectators. It's too bad because on May 9, South Kingstown's Anthony Shepard leaped further than anyone in Rhode Island ever has with a winning distance of 24 feet, 1.5 inches at the Southern Division Championship. Due to the fact that there was no wind gage at the meet, Shepard's jump could not be recognized as a record. That record is 24-0.5 by Don Blount set in 1936!
