North KIngstown freshman Sam Toolin en route to his sub four-minute 1,500m win.

Bobby Colantonio inched closer to the hammer state record at Saturday's Classical Classic. The Barrington High senior improved on his nation No. 1 with a heave of 251 feet, 2 inches. His winning toss was a facility record at Conley Stadium and just two feet shy of the 17-year-old R.I. mark of 253-3 by former Hendricken standout Jacob Freeman.

Central's Austin Wolo captured two events, winning the 400m dash with a hand-held time of 49.1. He was also first across the line in the 200m with a time of 21.70.

The state's top hurdler Nathan Narcisse of Classical looked smooth in the 110m HH with a fast 14.20 clocking.

North Kingstown's outstanding freshman Sam Toolin won the 1,500m in 3:59.20, the second fastest time  by a ninth-grader in the country. His frosh teammate Jack Perreault joined the sub two-minute club in the 800m. He was second to North Providence's Nathan Coogan with a 1:59.60 effort. Coogan took gold at 1:58.60.

Bishop Hendricken set a state mark in the 4x110m shuttle hurdle relay with a combined time of 1:02.60.
