One could say May Stern had a productive weekend.
Just a day after leading her team to a victory in the Headley Division Championships with a double-winning effort, the Classical High senior broke a 3-year-old state mark for 400 meters on Staten Island. Competing in the Red Division at the Ocean Breeze Invitational, Stern captured the individual title with a new R.I. indoor record of 55,41 seconds. She broke the 2013 mark of 56.30, set by Classical alumni Maddy Berkson at the New Balance Nationals.
