The seventh annual R.I. Classic Track & Field Invitational will be held on Wednesday (30 Dec.) at the PCTA track in Providence. The event begins with the boys' meet, starting at 9 a.m., followed by the girls' meet which is scheduled to start at 1:55 p.m. The meet, which will be LIVE streamed by MileSplit RI, includes an imperial mile for boys and girls.
La Salle's Jack Salisbury returns to defend his 2014 R.I. Classic mile title. Salisbury clocked a winning 4:21.31 (= 4:02.1 @ 1500 meters) at the '14 meet. The Rams' Eliza Rego was the top Rhode Island finisher in the girls' mile last year (5:08.78/= 4:46.1 @ 1500 meters), placing third. The boys' weight throw relay will be led by Barrington senior and state runner-up Bobby Colantonio.
