Bobby Colantonio is Colombia-bound.
On Tuesday, the Barrington High weight-thrower captured the 5 kg. hammer throw at the World Youth Trials in Illinois with a winning toss of 234 feet, 2 inches. With his victory, Colantonio earned a spot on Team USA for the World Youth Games in Cali, Colombia, July 15-19.
Just a day later, Colantonio was back in the hammer circle and again came out on top. He dominated the field at the USATF Hershey Youth Championships where he tossed the 5.44 (12 lbs.) hammer with a distance of 224-2.
