La Salle Academy made history on Friday night, capturing the distance medley relay at the Penn Relays Carnival. The Rams won the Championship of America event with a time of 10 minutes, 12.10 seconds. McDonogh School (MD) was second at 10:12.19. Finishing third was Christian Brothers Academy (NJ) in 10:12.78.
It's the first COA crown by La Salle since 1942 and only the third ever by a R.I. school. In 1988, St. Raphael Academy also captured the DMR.
