Trifecta for Hicks at Mount Pleasant Invite

The Mount Pleasant Invitational, the final qualifier for next weekend's state meet, produced some stellar performances on Saturday at Conley Stadium.

Classical junior Alva Hicks was a triple-winner, taking the discus with a distance of 141 feet,11 inches, the shot at 36-7.25 and the hammer with a personal best and nation No. 6 of 172-01. The Purple's Bianca Donadio tied a meet mark in the pole vault with a height of 10-6.

North Kingstown senior Maria Bolibruch copped two gold medals. Bolibruch was first in both hurdles, breaking the tape in the 100m HH in 15.40 and the 300m IH in 48.20.

Pilgrim senior Rebecca O'Donnell captured the long jump at 16-9 and was also the triple jump titlist at 36-7.25.

La Salle Academy sophomore Eliza Rego established a meet record in the 800m with a PB of 2:12.60. Westerly senior Jackie Burr out-distanced the field in the 1,500m with a strong clocking of 4:46.20.
